It was great to have a place of our own, but this apartment definitely needed some love. Surprisingly the apartment came with much of the supplies needed to clean it, so after purchasing some rolls of paper towels from our local mercado we got to work.
Whether it was the mop, the creamy liquid flowing from below the refrigerator, or the funk in the bathroom drains, we were greeted by some interesting smells when we arrived. Liz kept it classy (per usual), cleaning in gold flats and Kyra got down and dirty with the fridge.
All it took was a little elbow grease, and before long, the place felt much more like home.
We only have running water when the landlord decides to turn it on, the electrical outlets in the kitchen don't work, but don´t worry....we have 100 channels on our TV.
We got our pick of the litter when it came to bedrooms (the apartment has 4 beds). Each of us have our own room with great views of the neighborhood. We also get seranaded to sleep each night by the sound of taxis honking, police whistles, and gangs of dogs in the street.
